With increasing prices for film and latter generations in search of nostalgia they seem to go for older digital cameras. The look of the images likely reminds them, especially the Gen Z-ers, of their childhood. And I see this resurgence too in the most written posts on my blog. Especially my impression articles of the Ricoh GX100, GX200, GRDIII, and the Sigma DP1 seem to get some reads.
And in case you’re wandering, the last set of photographs were made in Austria, Zillertal to be more specific. Locals enjoy a small break in this brief offseason between the winter and the early June summer season opener. Recently a lot of snow felt on higher elevations and the remnants were still visible when we were there. Higher trails were still closed due to avalanche thread. Only on the Hintertuxer Glacier the ski season is an all year round operation.
The above photographs are a mix of my iPhone I always have with me. And a Leica Q, I really love using this camera. One thing though I can’t make up my mind, whether I want to stick to RAW for now or go for the jpegs instead. While the jpeg colors do need some TLC in my opinion they seem to be really adequate for my photography. When I come to a conclusion I will try to elaborate on it, same for the Q too in fact.
