Not the end of the world

2012, Photography
Even alone there is peace

Even alone there is peace

So much happened this year and so few moments did I actually capture. I can tell you so much about that, but I feel it first needs to become a piece of me. Had many doubts, conquered much, it proved not the end of my photography.

In reflection there is nostalgia

What I do know is that the year is nearly over, Christmas is close, and the Maya calendar was interpreted wrong my many. There was no doomsday. So no matter where you are, I wish you all a Happy Holiday. Love and respect each other.

  1. Those first two are particularly captivating and are a nice contrast with each other. I’ll look forward to browsing through some others. Thanks for sharing & be well~

  2. Dear Wouter,

Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year to You.

I sincerely hope that your self doubts and trepidation about photography this year give way to a clearer vision about photography in the coming year. Though personally I found each of your posts this year as good as that of any previous years’.

    Happy Holidays!!!

    Nitin

  3. Wouter wat prachtig die eerste plaat! Wat een mooie sfeer met de lichtvallingen! Een plaat die mij raakt! Een meesterwerk zo aan het eind van het jaar! De overige twee zijn mooi, ook qua kleur!

  4. Wouter, nice to see some light in a time where in our location the light is increasing in time from now on… Very nice relaxing, positive photographs!
I wish you and your family a peaceful, happy 2013 🙂

  5. These are a bit of a departure for you, Wouter! I especially like the top one – beautiful shot, perfectly proportioned – the sort of shot I would dearly like to take!

Have a very good Christmas and New Year, my friend! Adrian

  6. A deep introspective approach is increasingly visible in your shots. Well done.
Merry Christmas and all the best for 2013.

  7. Wouter, have a very merry Christmas, too. It was a real pleasure to meet you – if only briefly – in Cologne this year! Your photography continues to be a huge inspiration and I’m looking forward to see where you‘re heading in 2013. All the best!

  8. Number one is a truly great image. “Hold together,…, pass through everything, and everything is one dream, one appearance, one flash, one sad eye, one crystal lucid mystery, …” Jack Kerouac: “Desolation Angels”.

Happy holidays, Wouter and best wishes for the coming year.

  9. Happy holiday season to you and your family, Wouter. May the new year bring much happiness to you all. 🙂

I’ve enjoyed looking through “Saudade” several times now. As with all your imagery, the book is very inspirational. Now… how about a book of color images? 🙂

    Cheers,
    Jamie

    1. Merry Christmas, Jamie. A book in color might take a bit more time, but the idea is certainly very interesting and a true brake for me. So who knows? I am glad you find the book inspirational. Thank you.

  10. The new year finally there to come. Some decisions already made but the adventure of sticking to them. And in the dawn of the new year I’m thankful for the last year & the roads you put me on, Wouter. And for the peaceful horizon that made space for my new thoughts you inspired me to. Respect anyone & allow ourselves to think a new way although it maybe painful. But every of these thoughts shows that it’s not the end of the world & that every new beginning has it’s very own magic. Looking forward to another year of traveling with you. Looking forward to another year of taking you down these roads of mine. Thanks a lot, Wouter!

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
