The distance
There is always something to happen in the near distance. Better or worse, but as a result we tend to forget the moment now. In between the shadow and light it is were the preciousness occurs.

This photo is stunning wow
Thank you Holly for your comment.
Very true and very philosophical Wouter. In today’s world we have made our lives so complicated that we have forgotten to live in the present. For trying to attain a better future we miss out on the precious now which will never come back.
And your photograph very aptly sums up your thoughts.

I think we first need to focus on welfare instead of prosperity. As a society we can grow and show compassion when we care less about economic growth. The last 25 years showed that it comes at a huge price. Maybe it is nostalgia from my part, but I think current generations can make a difference.
Wouter, I very much like the images you make that imply a story… images that encourage the viewer to imagine a story behind the image. Today’s image is a very strong version of the type. Thanks for posting it; very inspiring.
Thank you. Like you say, the image hopefully boosts someone’s imagination to make up a story.
Wonderful photo – perfect timing. One of my favorites.
Thank you Amin. When I got there it felt perfect for such a moment.
Stunning perspective which says so much!
You’re welcome Patti.
To make ourselves & the next one able to see preciousness of shadows & with that be able to focus on the sideways & what really matters for our society is a huge task. Sometimes a picture speaks louder than a hundred words. Yours sure does, Wouter! Thanks for that.
All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
It is easier to forget the preciousness than learning to really appreciate it.
Superb composition. The foreground texture combined receding figures is powerful & dramatic.
Thank you.
Great atmosphere, superb !
This is great!
