week 12 | 2012
I would say this week was most certainly dedicated to the light and spring. Not particularly in that order, although I do have a preference now for all that light. The days are getting longer, there is noticeably more sunshine, and everything dull and grey gets a makeover. I notice for myself that it ignites new ideas and possibilities. I hope for you all on the Northern Hemisphere will experience the same. And those on the Southern Hemisphere, don’t worry. The fall is absolutely amazing too.
It was the week of finally getting a hang for color and in the end, loud rock-’n-roll. Enjoy the spring.

beautiful pictures. I enjoy your photos and those colors are beautiful. You are one of my fav photographers. Congrats!
Thank you Pedro.
Hi, Walter:
I’ve been enjoying your vision of color photography–very spare color. I like the way you see and the way you put that sight in front of us.
Best,
John

Color photography is most certainly quite different from B&W, John. To make the best of colors I do notice that I you get a tighter time frame. Harsh light makes colors go pale.
The top image looks like something out of a mid 1960s spy movie. Wonderful! I so much enjoy your work.
That’s very interesting, Walter. So you don’t adjust any colors–in camera or later–it’s completely the result of the flare from aiming toward the light?
Well, I do some post processing, but I certainly do some tricks to make the light work for me. I use flare consciously and overexpose carefully.
Thank you, Libby. I absolutely like nostalgia.
I really like the one with the bus stop.
Trivial fun fact: we are wearing exactly the same glasses.
I cycled to my work when I noticed how the light came through the bus stop. I immediately returned to take a photograph.
And the same glasses? That sure is a trivial fun fact.
Wouter lovely colors, indeed the light is the protagonist in all these frames.
Light provides energy, Jorge. I am glad it comes this way.
Yeah man, its gotta be rough up there, sometimes we “Floridians” take the light for granted, glad your energies and on the up and up. Cheers.
There is nothing “Floridian” here, so I take the best I can.
Really enjoyed all the pictures, the third one most of all. Excellent week!
I said it to Robert too. The light through the fogged window of the bus stop was too special to pass. I really had to return and take a photograph.
Another week of beautiful pictures. Awesome colors too.
Elaine, thank you! Hope you do fine.
The light sometimes almost surreal, Sometimes all that seems to wait a the bus stop. Blinding & confusing. Than again it takes Wouter to make it look extraordinary, soothing & something more felt than seen. Warm light & loud rock’n'nroll akiller combination when added to these gems of yours. Great, man!
All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
We need warm light and rock-’n-roll at times, Fritsch. It spices life.
Excellent images again, Wouter – I very much like your style – in the collections of shots that you post, there are always one or two >>>at >>>least, that make me say “Wow!!!” – I find your work inspiring! Adrian
Thank you Adrian. When one or two photographs work in a week I am glad to know.
